Offroad Rescue (“we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our website (“Site”) and application (“App”).
1) Information We Collect
- Account & Profile: Name, email, authentication data, display name, responder/requester status.
- Location: GPS or manually entered location for incidents and, if you opt in as a responder, your live/shared location.
- Identification (Responders): Driver’s license or other government-issued ID, which may include license number, issuing state, expiration date, and images.
- Chat Logs & Communications: In-app messages, incident notes, and administrative communications.
- Technical: Device, browser, IP address, OS, and diagnostic logs.
2) How We Use Information
- Core Functionality: Connect requesters and responders; display incidents and available responders on a live map.
- Identity Verification (Responders): Verify authenticity of responder identities to support safety and trust.
- Safety & Moderation: Review chat logs/records as needed to investigate reports, enforce rules, and protect users.
- Security & Compliance: Prevent fraud/misuse; comply with legal obligations; maintain platform integrity.
- Service Improvement: Troubleshoot, analyze, and enhance performance and reliability.
- Communications: Send password resets, policy updates, and critical notices.
3) Sharing of Information
- With Responders: Requesters’ location/contact details when help is requested.
- With Requesters: Responders’ approximate location and profile fields they choose to share (name, vehicle, equipment).
- With Admins: Limited access to user records for account management, safety, and compliance.
- With Third Parties: Trusted identity verification services may receive responder identification strictly to validate authenticity.
- Legal: Information may be disclosed to comply with law or valid process.
4) Data Retention
- Identification: Driver’s license information is stored securely while a responder remains active and may be retained thereafter for compliance and safety.
- Chat Logs: Stored securely for safety, dispute resolution, and compliance; not user-deleteable.
- Account Data: Retained while accounts remain active; may be archived or deleted per legal and operational needs.
5) Data Security
We use Firebase Authentication and Firestore/Storage with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized administrators. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6) Your Choices & Rights
- Access or update your profile information.
- Control location sharing (responders can set online/invisible/offline).
- Request account deletion (subject to legal retention obligations).
7) Children’s Privacy
Offroad Rescue is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child registered, contact us for removal.
8) Third-Party Services
We use Google Maps Platform and Firebase services. Their independent policies apply.
9) Changes
We may update this Policy. The updated version will show the “Last Updated” date.
